The Director Agreement is used to hire a director on a production.  The “Direct” is used to hire the director as a direct hire and not through his or her loanout.  The “Loanout” is used when the director has a loanout company loaning the services of the director.

This Agreement entered into on this XX day of MONTH, between [ Insert Director’s Name ] (“The Director ”) normally doing business at [ Insert Director’s Address ] and [ Insert Production Company Name ] (“Production Company”), normally doing business at [ Insert Production Company address ].

Whereas, the Parties intend to contract for the Direction of [ Insert Title of Project ] and the hiring of the Director to direct, oversee, and deliver the Film.

NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereby mutually agree to as follows:  

1. Director has been engaged to direct, oversee, and deliver a feature film entitled [ Insert Title of Project ], including all aspects of the film from development through to post production, including delivery. Services and fee schedule are described in Attachment 1, which is made part of this Agreement. All terms and conditions of Attachment 1 shall be binding, however if any conflict arises between Attachment 1 and this Agreement, the terms of this Agreement shall control.
